Canon Powershot A570 IS review

Canon A570IS raises the bar with image stabilisation optical, which only works when the camera is held horizontally. One of the major constraints of consumer digital cameras is the need to maintain the stable House to get a shot clear. Zoom top and shooting at night this problem can aggravate. I took a series of shots with and without which, and is useful but not a "magic wand" to poor shots. Small details as far from clear night signals when the participates. You can set is run continuously during the preview window only when the shutter is released (slightly lower drainage of battery), only the vertical movement (best for objects that move horizontally) or disabled (I still have to find a reason to do so). And, unlike many of the cameras I've seen, which works in video capture mode.

The A570 IS has better light details of measurement and considerably sharper shots interiors without flash. Image quality is generally excellent, even in low light situations. High ISO noise is significantly more controlled than the A540, perhaps one benefit of new 7.1MP CCD and Digic III image processor. According to the documentation, noise reduction is applied to a slower 1.3 seconds shutter speed or higher, and this may slightly slow shot to shot time below. There is no option to disable or adjust the noise of processing, but in my experience, the results are very good. When the noise reduction is applied.

The A570 IS offers full manual controls and also two more modes (children and domestic pets) to the wheel of the mode switch. The A570IS also adds a new Aquarium scene mode, to eliminate exchange and Color accent Color modes useless. Canon has also removed the menu customization "My camera" (to change the image of home and various sounds)

The movie is excellent, I have used on several occasions to capture audio and video when a custom image just do.The A570 can now capture video up to 1 hour or 4 GB whichever comes first. Video files are very large (about 1.9 MB/second at 30 fps) but very well compress with QuickTime Pro MPEG4 codec.

TIPS:

(1) make sure to do a low level format before using the SD card in the camera, even if it had formatted for another camera from Canon . It makes a significant difference in shot to shot speed

(2) always use high capacity (2500 mAh or higher) rechargeable NiMh batteries - has greatly improved flash recharge time (although still 4 - 6 seconds)

(3) for first flat indoor flash shots, you may need to replace ISO 100 to improve quality

(4) for shooting outdoors in bright sunlight, exposure adjustment - 2/3 gives better control of bright areas

(5) if the conversion lens adapter, don't want to use the built-in flash which is partially obscured by the adapter. I tried it yet, but expect the external flash to not have this problem.
