Canon IXUS 100 IS review

Canon IXUS 100 IS slimline is a digital pocket camera. Is small enough to slip in more or less any pocket. When you first collect the camera gives the impression of being well done with good construction quality. The IXUS 100 IS is also one of the finest digital cameras, although what constitutes the style is really a matter of personal taste. The camera is available in four colors. It's silver, black, red and gold.

Compared to other pocket cameras Canon has included some additional features. Image stabilization may be increasingly common even in digital cameras with zoom x 3 like this lens, but the inclusion of a viewer will appeal to many people. Not in vain the viewfinder is small, but still gives a different option to align their photos on the LCD screen.

Never to advise to throw a camcorder to buy a digital camera, but it is important to note that they can produce high definition with the IXUS 100 IS movie clips. This is good to record a quick clip here and there, but with only 3 x optical zoom lens available is there are no matches for a camcorder in the majority of occasions.

As expected the camera offers a variety of pre-programmed scene modes to help you take better pictures. There is also a special configuration to help you get the most detail possible in shots where there are high levels of contrast. This can increase the definition in darker areas, grim a picture as well as the brightest areas. There is a configuration of servo AF to help track the camera and focus on moving object. Additional help in this area is based on motion detection.

Canon do not include a memory card in the box. Unlike most brands have not built any memory in the IXUS 100 IS well. The logic behind all who feel that nobody buys this camera this is going to update a previous model and it may already possess at least one SD card or SDHC is compatible with the camera.

The 12-megapixel sensor limits in excess unless you are planning to make giant prints. Equity offers the flexibility to cut photos that have been taken. More important even if it reduces the amount of megapixels, which is shooting in available additional zoom too. The other stands of this is the fact that pictures take up less space on the memory card. It also reduces the time required to upload photos to a computer.

I was impressed with the quality of the produced image of the camera. There were no major weaknesses. I must warn that perfection is not available with these small cameras, but if you are looking for good quality snapshots the IXUS 100 IS will do the job well. Canon digital cameras generally produce brilliant photos with much color. For close up shots can get in as close as 3 cm of the object.

Canon has produced a waterproof case to go with the IXUS 100 IS. The case has the number of code (WP-DC31). The case is waterproof to a depth of 40 meters. A weight is available to go with the case. Another accessory that may be interested is a flash drive to boost the output of flash in low light situations. This is the Canon high power Flash HF-room DC1.

Overall I was very impressed with the Canon IXUS 100 IS. The drawback is that the camera is expensive. I suppose that at the end of the day you will get what it pays, but you need to make sure that we really like the look of this House and will make use of some of these additional features before buying this camera.
