The Canon PowerShot D10 has really given me the opportunity to share my lifestyle in the open air with my family and friends. They live in a tropical island have so many options to enjoy the outdoors and take full advantage of this. I've been snorkeling, sailing, hiking and mountain bike for several years but I have never recorded my activities to show my family as I never had a good camera.
However, that has all changed now, I recently bought a Canon PowerShot D10. This House is really resistant and most importantly proof test of shock and water. This gave me many more options for taking great pictures, especially for first time underwater photos.
The PowerShot D10 is waterproof to 33 feet or 10 meters depending on where you live and as an active snorkeler this is ideal for me. I guess I never dive beyond four metres by what this House never be tested their limits less I downloaded what is unlikely due to the accessories that I bought the camera.
Out of the box the camera comes with an adjustable strap of heavy. I bought the pack of accessory from Canon that includes two straps for shoulder or neck of braided cable, a carabiner, three different colored strap covered front and a soft case. So when I'm snorkeling I have the camera cut to my belt or hanging round my neck and/or chest. This is great for releasing my hands but with the confidence that I lose not the camera.
There are four points of fastening straps, one on each corner ideally left hand user as well. The belt or the carabiner corrects only one corner but the belt neck fixed to two corners allowing loop on his neck or round his chest, making hands-free.
As the camera is a four foot drop test gives me much confidence to take the camera with me when I'm out of my mountain bike. I took the camera where soft but cropped my belt with Caribiner strap for easy use. If the camera gets dirty, then, is can be easily clarified as it is waterproof. At the beginning was careful with the camera already has no any parasol but the lens is resistant to scratches and has not scored so far.
The camera is also classified as freezing test but I'm unlikely prove that they live where do and I'm not curious pop in the freezer but I'm insurance that other users in other places could have bought the House for any reason. For me it is the waterproof factor tells how sudden torrential rains are the rule and shocks for my outdoor activities.
Since you purchased the camera who has spent hours in the salty ocean, snorkel up to four metres, numerous falls in the sand, creates countless button of my fingers dry and Sandy, rugged cycle rides in the rain and a survey of the bottom of my pool. The result, a camera is as good as the day I bought it.
The PowerShot D10 has a bulky design in comparison with most point-and-shoot cameras and also a lens protruding making it podgy and a little uncomfortable to tote around. It is not the camera that would fall in my shirt pocket to take to the restaurant, but once it comes out of my backpack and snorkel kit camera comes into its own. Weight wise the camera is fine and the brilliant decision to Canon to build four posts accessories around the edges was a master stroke.
The rear LCD is excellent. Even in full daylight, I've never had a problem seeing the images on the screen. The design of the button is also well designed, and Canon Digital Elph users will feel at home. First time users quickly learn to use logical buttons. The most important differences only for the normal distribution of Canon were the mechanism of zoom, which is managed by two buttons of rubber to the right of the LCD screen. and the mode of film, which is activated by a button on top of the LCD screen. In general terms, I have not had any problem browsing control of film mode switching buttons still mode and back again, or zoom.
Implementation is fast, under a second, and all buttons were well placed and easy to operate, even under water. Unfortunately, the actual performance of shutter and auto focus is not as fast. In the majority of cases, the camera focused quickly enough for me capture fish parrot that was in front of me, but there were few times when I lost due to slow shutter response. It is probably no worse than the average not waterproof point and shoot camera, but had better be on the ball if they are expecting to set that perfect shooting as the gift of fish don't wait you.
I have shot about 45 minutes of VGA video along with a few hundred snapshots before the battery warning indicator light has come. To be honest it is a lot of shooting in a single day, activities are more important than the recording, but it gives an indication of what to expect. For the majority of the people of the battery it will not be a problem. All the technical details of this House are available online for what will not extend any more here.
Now they do not expect underwater video and photographs which leads to professional teams, the camera can't do that, but for its price it gives good results. Out of the water, the quality is excellent, better than my Casio Exilim that has none of the three main attributes of the D10. In general I am happy with my "partner in the open air ' and is always the first item in my bag ready for the next adventure."
