Choose digital SLR or point-and-shoot camera

Before becoming a professional photographer, I do not have much knowledge of cameras and their accessories. Used mainly point and shoot camera to take pictures and define everything in auto for simplified operation. I thought that my photos were good for most of the time until the day I received my order of Canon 20 D. Although this camera is a product of the year 2004, it is still a very useful tool for me today.

There are huge differences between the small point and filming cameras and along. I am only highlighting some key differences.

1. Quality of the image.
Along have much better quality of images on the point and shoot camera. I have owned Sony P-1, Canon PowerShot SD400 and Canon S5. Extend all these guys little to capture good images only some. When compared with images taken from my Canon 20 D, you will notice the differences. Photos are much more sharp Canon 20 D. The other DSLR I have also produced impressive image quality especially cameras pro levels.

2. Response & performance.
Cameras Point and shoot are not designed to be fast and responsive. Long, the pictures were taken a couple of seconds when the shutter is pressed. This increases the possibilities of important moments missing. It is especially true for the Frankish shots. Most of the recent along can initiate and operate instantly. Shutter GAL is only one-tenth of a second or better.
There is no continuous comparison capacity between along and shooting point and shoot camera. While the level pro digital SLR, the Canon 1 d series can register up to 10 images per second, the majority of point and shoot cameras struggle to obtain images 2 or less than a second. There is no substitute for the use of along in a sporting event.

3 Interchangeable lens
Point shoot camera has only a generation of lens; thereby limiting their ability to shoot at variable focal distance. Although some of the DSLR and point-and-shoot camera can reach x 10 optical zoom, cannot be overcome disadvantages of the image quality and performance. Great lens selections are available for all major brands of camera along. You can choose the lens to meet your needs. You can buy budget line lens at the beginning and gradually switch to more expensive lens when they improve their skills and shooting lifestyle change. At the time of the update of the camera, the lens has accumulated over years are still usable.

4. Easy to use
This is the area you choose and shoot camera may have the upper hand. Control system and configuration of complex menu can easily scare off novice camera to. My mom was never a fan of my along and thought that they were not designed for mature students like her. She is much happier with the small Canon SD400 for its simplicity. A single click of a button, got the taken image.

5 Cost and weight
When you have a better product, normally expect to pay more. This is also true when it comes to camera. Along generally are much better built with components and software. While the most point and shoot cameras price range is between $100-$ 500 along can cost up to $8000 by the top pro model. My horse Canon 1Ds Mark II and Canon 1Ds Mark I cost $8000 when first they were released. When you add with lens pro, flashes and other accessories, the cost of the equipment to $15,000-20,000 easily accessible. Pro cameras are definitely not toy from someone. Its strong price tag can only be justified if put to commercial use to make money for their owners. With the sunken economy, a lot of photographers are struggling to recover their investment in equipment.

My camera bag weights about 30 - 40 pounds when fully loaded with camera and lens. Carrying that bag all should for several hours wear me quickly. Some of the camera, point and shoot, such as the Sony TX series can easily fall into his shirt pocket.

I hope that it summarizes the main differences between digital SLR and point and that shoot cameras. That one purchase will determine how you want to use it. If you have specific questions about a model, do not hesitate to send me an email. I will do my best to answer your questions when I'm free. A look at the images on my website to get some think about what the pro camera can create.
