Why buy a camera Digital Sony Cybershot DSCW200?

Is it possible that possibly the greatest electronic gadget manufacturer on the planet produce a respectable digital camera $250? I am talking about Sony here, and the camera in question is the camera Digital Sony Cybershot DSCW200. The DSCW200 is an ultra-compact digital, but is the price in the upper part of this ultra compact category. Is it a worthy contender, or simply a poser?

Let's start with the most important consideration of any camera... picture quality. It is not so respectable with DSC-W200. Sony chose to go with 12 mega pixels in this ultra compact. Something similar, trying to squeeze an elephant in his Austin Mini passenger seat. Damn hard to do and although its success, where you're going to drive with an elephant? In addition to marketing hype, 12MP is too full for an ultra compact camera. The majority of images from an ultra compact camera will see on the LCD screen, or upload MySpace and FaceBook pages. Nobody is trying to exploit these, their framework and then hang them above the fireplace. 5 or 6 megapixel camera would have been fine. Probably better, as it would have been reduced noise from the image.

At this price, it had great expectations from the LCD of DSC-W200 screen. Unfortunately, it seems that Sony cheaped here. 115,000 pixels of a 2.5-inch LCD is not large. It's really quite grainy and quite difficult to see out of angle, or in direct sunlight. As a basis for comparison, the main Canon cameras in this sport category 3 LCD screens with a resolution of 230,000 pixels. At least Sony provided an optical viewfinder. Not a great, but a viewer notwithstanding.

While this next minutia is less agree, just have to bring it up. The USB cable provided by Sony for DSC-W200 is proprietary. I really hate to be forced to buy a product that is produced by a single company. I like the choice. Sony has a bad habit of pushing proprietary technology that dates back to Beta Video, Memory Stick and now with the fiasco of Blu-Ray disc of all. You don't want to say that those were not good and better technologies, only choice I.

But wait, that's not all. Sony made sufficient safeguard ups with CyberShot DSC-W200, that even the most ardent Sony lover take a look flirtatious towards other suitors. Here are some reasons:

-the zoom lens does not have enough zoom

-excessive megapixel has driven the price is too high

-flash to recharge time is unacceptable

-large players users will find it difficult the camera controls

-face detection is only available in automatic mode

-face detection works inconsistently

-zoom function will not work when filming videos

Therefore, they have there. The bottom-line here, take a look at some other Ultracompact cameras before buying a CyberShot DSC-W200. There is much to choose and its more likely to save money and get a better camera in the long term.
