Canon Powershot A480 is the line of the digital camera in the Canon entry level. It has fewer features than other models of the range. This has the advantage of easy to use and also keep the price down.
The good news is despite the price tag lower is still able to take good quality photos. I was very impressed by the sharpness of photos when taking standard outdoor scenes. Powershot A480 certainly give other entry-level models a run for their money when it comes to sharpness. Also I was impressed by the brightness and the color of the pictures produced camera.
To close the works the camera can focus 1 cm the item. This is closer that can manage most of the cameras, even those that are much more expensive. The quality of the macro shots is good with sufficient detail that shows.
As it was to be hoped that the camera is not perfect in every way. The LCD screen may be better in bright light. Canon has been used 115,000 pixels of the screen. This is half the amount normally used and this well have contributed to make the screen seen in brighter light. If you are going to reel off some pictures using flash Powershot A480 significantly slow it down. Otherwise retardation shutter and turn times are in line with similar cameras.
The size of the Powershot A480 is more than 30 mm in width. This makes it a bit of a splash of connection in a pocket. Although not really comparable with some of the finest models available it seems good enough to my eye. There are blue, four colors, black, blue and silver versions.
It is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 3.3 x optical zoom. This is a specification fairly standard for the price, although you may find that other cameras are now a little extra zoom in comparison with Powershot A480. Other features include face detection focusing for clearer portraits. Another more recent to help with shots of portrait innovation is the correction of red-eye. This happens after the photo has been taken. Nor can indicate to the House to clean any red eye itself or can be manually the task yourself. There are also a small number of color filters that can be used to create different effects. These include the black and white and sepia.
Provides food by dos pilas AA using these batteries instead of the more common lithium-ion the help to explain why the Powershot A480 is slightly larger in size than most digital cameras. Canon estimated that it may take some 200 shots before a standard set of batteries exhausted. I personally think this is looking at the bright side and worth that budget for a set of rechargeable batteries to help minimize maintenance costs.
Canon is the only brand I can think still provide memory cards with their digital cameras. All other brands tend to be built in the camera memory. A 32 mb card is supplied with the camera. This is no enough space for about a dozen shots before the card is full. As well as SD cards camera is also compatible with SDHC cards.
The Powershot A480 was introduced in February 2009. Other similar cameras introduced around this time include the W950 DSC Sony and Olympus FE-5000. It may be worthy to withdraw these cameras as alternatives to the Powershot A480. The next step up in the line of Canon is Powershot A1100 IS. These cameras look a little different from one another and also the Powershot A1100 IS provides image stabilization.
