The Canon Powershot D10 is a little different from the implementation of the digital camera's Mill. For starters it is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters. This makes it a good choice if you are looking for a camera use around the pool while on vacation. Up next is freezeproof to-10 degrees Celsius. Therefore also should continue to work on everything except in the most extreme conditions of cold. In addition to this it is protected against falls. Canon say can afford the Powershot D10 falls up to 1.2 meters. So if you have a small child some protection against accidental falls or enthusiastic use is built in. The camera is also dustproof.
All these characteristics go together to make this camera a more solid digital cameras on the market. Another area where it is different is the aspect. It is not easy to describe the Powershot D10. It's almost as if Canon has started with a typically rectangular in shape and then pumped air that bulgy. It is two tone with silver half and the other bright blue. The optical drive stands out from the camera. One concern that I have is that the lens yes no back in the body when the camera is turned off and I could not see a lens cover in the box. The camera is about 50 mm in width, so it does not fit in a Pocket very easily.
I found the design of the buttons in the back of the camera to be a bit complicated. I'm perhaps not used to design and this will improve once I have to know the camera more. Even so I found access to the zoom controls more difficult than is usually the case.
Hidden within the unity of the body is a typical point-and-shoot digital camera. As ever the Canon includes one or two additional features, such as the manual focus and some additional options of flash. Also built are more standard features such as image stabilization and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. There is a 12 megapixel sensor in addition a 3 x optical zoom. As it is becoming more common is the ability to reduce the number of Megapixels that is firing change increase the amount of available zoom.
The Powershot D10 does not have a high definition movie mode, but it is capable of shooting standard definition TV quality films. Sound can be recorded with the film. You can use optical zoom before you start shooting your movie clip. Apply digital zoom while filming is underway, but it is likely to decrease the quality of the material of movie file.
Other features which now constitute the standard are available. These include face detection for sharp and properly exposed portraits as well as correction of red-eye to clean any red eye introduced in portrait photos taken using flash.
Image quality is good. The camera also performs in the variety of tests that I put through. Looking at the results is quality slightly short of the one offered by the best digital cameras of Canon , but still should be good enough cover a lot of instant fun.
The Powershot D10 is Canon'sfirst waterproof digital camera. The competition is provided by the 8000 Olympus MJU tough. I have found little to choose between the two chambers with both doing the work they set out to do.
