Canon EF lenses

Canonlens alignment can be a little intimidating for any new digital SLR or SLR camera owner. The main reason for this is probably the fact that Canon offers more than 60 interchangeable lenses for their series of SLR and DSLR cameras. This objective includes primes, Zooms, tilt and shift, Macros, wide lenses, telephoto and Super Telephoto.

Although Canon manufactures many types of lenses, EF alignment is the most popular as these lenses with the CanonEF mount SLR and DSLR cameras. In addition, Canon also manufactures the line of EF-S lenses that adapts to the range of Canonconsumer cameras with sensors APS - C CMOS as the rebel series. The EF-S lenses can be used on APS-C cameras, but these cameras can also use normal EF lenses. Each Canon EF lens can be classified in one of the following classes:

Lenses Prime (fixed)

Ultra Wide - cousins usually with a focal length of 20 mm or less, as the EF14mm f / 2.8 L II USM. Used mainly for landscapes.
Wide - prime numbers between 20 and 50 mm as the EF35mm f / 1.4 L USM. Used mainly for landscapes.

Zoom lenses (adjustable)

Wide Zoom - zoom home between 16 and 22 mm focal length as EF17-40 mm f/4 L USM. Useful for landscapes and weddings.
Standard Zoom - zoom that starts between 24 and 28 mm at the end more bandwidth and a range between 70 and 200 mm, EF24-105 mm f/4 L USM of is. Useful for weddings and portraits.

EF-S lenses

Lenses with special mount that can only be used with cameras of CanonAPS-C sensor, such as the series of rebel. Cameras with the APS-C trip has a 1.6 x therefore, multiplying the effect of normal EF lenses, lenses need as the EF-S 10-22 mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, which is useful for photography of landscape with the rebel series.

Macro lenses

Tilt & Shift lenses

Lenses such as the TS-E24mm f / 3.5 l are mainly used for architectural photography.Special high quality "L" lenses can be found in each of the classes mentioned, except the EF-S class. These lenses are made of special materials, tend to be heavy, weather-resistant and produce images of impressive quality and clarity.
