Canon Powershot A1100 is Digital camera - great for beginners?

Bookmark and Share

The Canon Powershot A1100 IS digital camera is described by Canon as "easy and fun" and is directed at the point-and-shoot market. Despite this it has many features:

** 12.1 Megapixel
** 4 x Optical Zoom with stabilizer of image (also 4 x digital zoom)
** Advanced face detection to ensure the right approach
** 2.5-inch LCD
** Automatic function select from 18 predefined settings for best results
** Uses standard AA batteries (rechargeable batteries can be used)
** Optical viewfinder
** Records video with resolution up to 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second
** Available in bodies of different colors - gray, blue, pink and green

Having used the camera and looked at other opinions would say that ve is overwhelming positive. Without doubt, the camera is easy to use and takes pictures good, strong, with a good colour reproduction especially in bright light. The face detection system seems to work well and the image stabilisation system seemed to help.

Although you can select the configuration manually, predefined settings automatically work well and it will probably be used most of the time, this is what makes point-and-shoot.

After turning on, the Powershot A1100 IS Digital camera, Canon was ready to go quickly and the time between takes age of less than 3 seconds.

The batteries seem to be a large problem with users. Some say that the battery is good that others say that it is poor and the use of AA batteries seem to add to the volume and weight of the camera. I really like this feature because it means that it will never stick with a camera unusable because the battery is flat. AA batteries can be purchased anywhere or taken from some other device. For the record, I thought that the battery was fine.

There is an optical viewfinder that has seemed useful. Although it is not as accurate as the LCD screen for composing shots, it is invaluable in bright light when it is difficult to see the LCD screen. Canon describe the LCD of high quality. I'm not sure what it means, but I thought it was OK.

Construction quality is good and is relatively easy to maintain and operate the camera.

The camera is available in 4 colors, but prices vary despite everything else is the same, unless this is important to you, it is better to go with the cheapest (B.T.W. "grey" is the official description of Canonbut, often described as "Silver").

Canon does not provide a full printed manual and this upset some users. Unfortunately if you need a printed copy of the manual will have to print her yourself.

Canon Powershot A1100 IS Digital camera is a camera point and shoot compact higher which is good value for money and is ideal for any new digital photography or someone who just wants to point out – and shoot.
